Verizon customers in Wisconsin are the real winners in newest RootMetrics® wireless network performance report

MILWAUKEE, Feb. 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon customers in Wisconsin are enjoying all the benefits of the top performing wireless network in the state, as rated by the new Wisconsin RootScore^® Report by RootMetrics. RootMetrics is an independent mobile analytics firm that uses off-the-shelf consumer smartphones to test the network capabilities of all four major U.S. wireless carriers in six network performance categories across various geographies.

This latest RootScore report rated Verizon's Wisconsin network No. 1 in five categories and tied for first in a sixth. In addition to overall performance, Verizon's Wisconsin network was ranked highest for the fifth consecutive testing period in reliability, speed and data performance. In this report the company ranked first in text performance and shared first place in call performance. Additionally, for the fifth consecutive time, Verizon's U.S. wireless network has been acknowledged by RootMetrics as the leader in overall performance among national wireless service providers across the U.S.

Scores are based on RootMetrics tests conducted in 118 indoor locations and drive tests across 3,633 miles in Wisconsin, from July through December 2015.

Verizon continues to enhance its network in Wisconsin by deploying new technology such as small cells and distributed antenna systems and expanding XLTE coverage, which doubles 4G LTE network bandwidth in cities nationwide, with faster peak speeds and greater capacity than before. In addition, Verizon has aggressively deployed LTE Advanced and carrier aggregation, which uses software to combine multiple network channels running on different spectrum bands into one big pipe, significantly increasing speeds for consumers. 

In the Metro RootScore report series, Verizon also was rated the No. 1 network in Milwaukee in overall, speed and data performance, while sharing first place in reliability, call and text performance.
