Additionally, for the fifth consecutive time, Verizon's wireless network has been acknowledged by RootMetrics as the leader in overall performance among national wireless service providers across the U.S. Scores are based on RootMetrics drive and 134 indoor tests, including 4,800 miles in Washington, from July through December 2015.
"We're pleased to win a fifth straight No. 1 overall ranking in Washington in the RootMetrics state report, and to also repeat for the second consecutive period as leader the across the board in reliability, call, text, speed and data performance." said Brian Mecum, vice president, Network for Verizon.
"That being said, our focus is already on winning again next year because we know a better network matters to our customers."
Verizon continues to enhance its network in Washington by deploying new technology such as small cells in dense metro areas, distributed antenna systems and expanding XLTE coverage, which doubles 4G LTE network bandwidth in cities nationwide, with faster peak speeds and greater capacity than before. In addition, Verizon has aggressively deployed LTE Advanced and carrier aggregation, which uses software to combine multiple network channels running on different spectrum bands into one big pipe, significantly increasing speeds for consumers.
Additionally, Verizon's wireless network was also recognized by RootMetrics as earning the most first place or shared first place rankings among the nation's top airports in the second half of 2015, with 25 Data RootScore Awards, including Seattle-Tacoma International (SEA).
