Verizon customers in Utah are the real winners in newest RootMetrics® wireless network performance report

SALT LAKE CITY, Feb. 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon customers in Utah are enjoying all the benefits of the top performing wireless network in the state, as rated by the new Utah RootScore^® Report by RootMetrics. RootMetrics is an independent mobile analytics firm that uses off-the-shelf consumer smartphones to test the network capabilities of all four major U.S. wireless carriers in six network performance categories across various geographies.

This marks the fifth consecutive time Verizon has won the Overall RootScore award in Utah.  Verizon also was ranked first in reliability, speed and data performance and tied for first in call performance.  Scores are based on RootMetrics drive and 97 indoor tests, including 4,104 miles in Utah from July through December 2015.

Additionally, for the fifth consecutive time, Verizon's wireless network has been acknowledged by RootMetrics as the leader in overall performance among national wireless service providers across the U.S.

Verizon continues to enhance its network across the Beehive State by deploying new technology such as distributed antenna systems and expanding XLTE coverage, which doubles 4G LTE network bandwidth in cities nationwide, with faster peak speeds and greater capacity than before. In addition, Verizon has aggressively deployed LTE Advanced and carrier aggregation, which uses software to combine multiple network channels running on different spectrum bands into one big pipe, significantly increasing speeds for consumers. 

In the Metro RootScore report series, Verizon won its fourth consecutive Overall RootScore Awards in Salt Lake City and Provo, and also won Overall RootScore Award outright in Ogden.   Additionally, Verizon's wireless network was recognized by RootMetrics as earning the most first place rankings among the nation's top airports in the second half of 2015, with 25 Data RootScore Awards including Salt Lake City International Airport.
