Verify Brand Announces Collaboration with GS1
MINNEAPOLIS, May 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Verify Brand is pleased to announce collaboration with GS1 Sweden to deploy a GS1 standards-based smartphone authentication service demonstration at the GS1 Concept Centre in Stockholm, Sweden. The Centre, launched in January 2012, is an innovative venture within GS1 designed for companies across industries to visit and experience how the GS1 system of standards is used to streamline and secure supply chains globally.
Verify Brand has successfully deployed its VB Enterprise 4.0 Mobile Consumer Authentication application on smartphones using the Android operating system. Visitors to the Centre can experience this service by using the smartphones to capture GS1 - 2D Data Matrix bar codes applied to a variety of sample product packaging, submit the encoded unique identifier (UID) data, via secure Internet communication to the Verify Brand secure cloud-based data repository, and receive real-time feedback regarding the authenticity of the UIDs.
This collaboration demonstrates deep commitment by GS1 Sweden and Verify Brand to the use of GS1 standards to better secure supply chains globally and across industries.
