Venus and Serena Williams to team up at BallenIsles Celebrity Tennis Exhibition benefiting local Charity
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla., Dec. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- BallenIsles Country Club's Member residents and world-class tennis sensations, Venus and Serena Williams will team up in doubles matches on the Stadium Court of the Club's state-of-the-art Sports Complex today, December 22, 2013 at 3 p.m.
The celebrity tennis exhibition from 3 – 4:30 pm will pit the Williams sisters against Brenda Schultz-McCarthy who holds the world record for the fastest serve and Nicole Melichar from Stuart, Florida who has won two singles and four doubles titles on the ITF tour in her career. The Williams sisters will also team up against Serena's hitting partner Sasha Bajin and BallenIsles USPTA Pro 1 Ricardo Mendivil.
"Venus and Serena's competitiveness on court, is matched only by how incredibly close they are off court which makes them a formidable doubles team like no other," Exhibition Director and BallenIsles Tennis Director Trish Faulkner said.
The Celebrity Tennis Exhibition is complimentary to Members and their guests, with voluntary donations to benefit the Serena Williams Foundation (www.theswf.org), which assists families affected by violent crimes throughout the U.S. and also helps high school students who wish to continue their education to build a better world.
