CHANTILLY, Va., Oct. 4, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Vencore, Inc., announced today that as a partner of the QWK Integrated Solutions LLC (QWK) joint venture, it will support the High Energy Laser Technical Vehicle Demonstrator (HEL TVD) task order on the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/ Army Forces Strategic Command (USASMDC/ARSTRAT), Design, Development, Demonstration and Integration (D3I) program Domain 1 contract. This award is for the base (concept refinement) period of the task order.
The HEL TVD program is designed to give warfighters a cost effective, high energy laser weapon system to protect them from rockets, artillery and mortars at fixed and semi-fixed locations. Vencore will support QWK's efforts on the task order through program management and various systems engineering and testing activities.
The D3I program will provide the Army with rapid design, development, demonstration, and integration of technology to support the mission of USASMDC/ARSTRAT and the warfighter. QWK addresses these needs uniquely by leveraging the extensive capabilities of the partner companies and its team members.
