Venari Resources Names David R. Looney as Chief Financial Officer

DALLAS and HOUSTON, Feb. 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Venari Resources LLC, a deepwater oil exploration and production company in the Gulf of Mexico, today announced the appointment of David R. Looney as Chief Financial Officer.

Mr. Looney joins Venari from Common Resources, a private equity-backed exploration venture focused on emerging onshore resource plays, where he held the position of Chief Financial Officer.  Prior to joining Common Resources, Mr. Looney served in several senior financial officer roles with Goodrich Petroleum Corporation, EPL Oil & Gas, Inc. and EOG Resources.  Mr. Looney began his career in the banking industry, specializing in the financing of various E&P and other energy businesses.  His more than 35 year career in finance also includes positions at Chase, Toronto Dominion and Koch Industries.
