SAUSALITO, Calif., Feb. 5, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- VectorCare, the SF-based care coordination start-up, announced today the appointment of Albert Prast (Aerocare Holdings Inc), to their Board of Directors in 2019.
"After working with Albert for so many years, it feels only natural to have him join the board and take a bigger role in VectorCare's vision for healthcare," says David Emanuel, CEO. "His insights and advice will be incredibly valuable to us as we move into 2019 and we're thrilled to have him as part of the team."
Prast, 58, holds over 26 years of experience in the healthcare technology sector. He currently serves as CTO/CIO at Aerocare Holdings Inc., focusing on technology operations & strategy and product development. Prior to that, he held the position of an SVP at UnitedHealth Group, CTO of the Optum Cloud, CIO/CTO of Connextions Inc., and CIO of Rotech Medical Corporation.
Prast received his B.S. of Economics from the University of Michigan, as well as an MBA from Rollins College. He is an active investor in healthcare and technology, bringing his expertise to the board of companies including Datalink Software, Revel Health, Nucleus Health, and others.
"I have followed the evolution of David and the VectorCare product and team for a few years now," said Prast. "What attracted me to the company is the combination of David's ability to laser focus on the market that we choose to serve, our scalable technology stack and clean architecture, and a growing need for patient coordination on behalf of a growing population of Americans who are over the age of 65. This is an exciting time in healthcare where great companies have the opportunity to leverage technology to do good things for people."
With the addition of Prast, VectorCare's board expands to three members this year including David Emanuel(CEO, VectorCare) and Jason Portnoy (Oakhouse Partners).
