The holding company for the mobile ad network and platform iVdopia Selected from nearly 4,000 submissions
SAN JOSE, Calif., April 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Vdopia (www.vdopia.com), the advertising technology company that has launched products like iVdopia (www.ivdopia.com), has been named a finalist for the 2010 TiE50 Awards for the top start-ups.
TiE50, which this year received nearly 4,000 submissions from companies, will announce the 50 winners in the first week of May.
"We're elated and incredibly grateful for this acknowledgment from TiE50," said Srikanth Kakani, co-founder of Vdopia and iVdopia. "This takes our vision for enabling free content everywhere a step further. We've worked hard on innovation in advertising, and iVdopia for more than a year has made an impact as the pioneering mobile ad network and platform, which most recently released the first high-def ads for the iPad. The nomination nicely validates the years and dedication that have gone into establishing the company."
The TiE50 Awards recognize the hottest emerging companies in five focus segments: CleanTech, Internet, BioSciences, Wireless and Software. The 50 winners are selected from 295 nominations through a combination of public voting and input from a group of eminent entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and industry leaders. The public can vote at http://www.tie50.net/polling/. The TiE50 winners will be recognized at TiEcon 2010, in Santa Clara, Calif., May 14-15.
Last year's crop of TiE50 winners have raised over $2B in funding after winning the award.
iVdopia, the pioneer of interactive video advertising for mobile devices, in March 2009 introduced the first mobile ads that let users stay within the application. More recently, iVdopia unveiled the first social media ads for mobile with Talk2Me and the first high-def ads on the iPad.
"This is another important step in getting Vdopia and iVdopia recognized for introducing new advertising features in video and mobile advertising," said Vdopia and iVdopia Chief Business Officer Saurabh Bhatia. "The TiE50 organization highlights enterprising start-up companies that best demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit in a wide range of industries, so to have them pick our company as a finalist among thousands of entrants is a genuine honor."
