RICHARDSON, Texas, May 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- VCE, the leader in converged infrastructure systems, today announced new VCE Vblock Systems that will enable enterprises and service providers to rapidly and reliably adopt Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) for their data centers. VCE customers can now order Vblock Systems with the scalable, programmable, energy-efficient and high-performance Cisco Nexus 9000 Series switches – the building blocks for Cisco ACI. As additional core elements of Cisco ACI become available, VCE customers will be well prepared to take full advantage of its powerful capabilities.
These "ACI-ready" Vblock Systems, combined with VCE Vision Intelligent Operations software, will deliver the proven simplicity, business agility and cost-effectiveness of VCE converged infrastructure while enabling IT to simplify operations and scale with the demands of new, "born in the cloud" applications.
Next-generation applications increasingly require new ways of deployment and management, putting increased stress on aging and ever more complex IT environments, while introducing compliance, security and performance challenges. As a result, IT must be more dynamic, with the ability to adapt – and re-adapt – seamlessly to these changing requirements. True converged infrastructure from VCE, with its policy-based application management framework, enables business agility by accelerating application deployments, helping IT respond more quickly and efficiently to changing business needs.
VCE Vblock Systems with Cisco Application Policy Infrastructure Controller (APIC), Cisco Nexus 9000 switches and VCE Vision Intelligent Operations software will offer a dramatically accelerated and low-risk path to adoption, optimal deployment and consistent operations of new applications across virtualized and bare-metal environments. The solution will automate provisioning of the complete application deployment lifecycle and enable business and IT agility, operational simplicity and minimized risk. In addition, the centralized, policy-driven automation of Cisco APIC, application profiles and Nexus 9000 switches combine to help organizations build highly secure cloud networks and hybrid clouds.
"Customers rely on VCE for the fastest deployment of infrastructure and applications, the highest performance and availability, and the lowest total cost of ownership," said Todd Pavone, executive vice president, Product Strategy and Development, VCE. "Combining the value of Vblock Systems with Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure, we can now deliver a holistic architecture with centralized automation and policy-driven application profiles, resulting in greater application predictability and availability with significantly lower costs. This is the next step in helping customers transform their IT operations."
"VCE's integration of Cisco's ACI and Nexus 9000 into Vblock Systems dramatically enhances the delivery of applications and converged infrastructure, providing security across physical and virtual environments seamlessly at scale. With this solution VCE will provide its customers with a clear onramp to the industry's most advanced network programmability and policy-based automation, while optimizing operations via a single pane of glass," said Soni Jiandani, senior vice president, INSBU, Cisco.
