Vayyar Joins SAMSUNG ARTIK Platform Ecosystem to Showcase a New Suite of Safer, More Secure Capabilities for Smart Homes
At SDC 2016, Vayyar will demonstrate its sensors running on the SAMSUNG ARTIK platform to detect people falling, monitor their location and vital signs without compromising privacy
SAN FRANCISCO, April 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- SAMSUNG DEVELOPERS CONFERENCE -- Vayyar Imaging (http://vayyar.com), the 3D-imaging sensor company whose technology makes it possible to see through objects, liquids and materials, announced today that the company has collaborated with the SAMSUNG ARTIK™ team to demonstrate a system that will help track Smart Home movement and monitor vital signs amongst the aging population. View Vayyar's 3-D imaging sensor technology in action here.
The differentiator is Vayyar's use of RF (radio frequency) technology, as the RF sensor does not capture images like a traditional camera. Unlike traditional optics-based health monitoring systems, the devices can be placed in new locations while upholding privacy. Position them inside a wall and they can see through it to monitor a room, or place them in a shower and they will alert if an elderly person has fallen.
"Working with Samsung on their ARTIK platform felt like a natural collaboration," said Ofer Familier, director of business development at Vayyar Imaging. "People today, and especially elderly people, are looking for solutions that are secure, don't invade their privacy, and don't require them to wear monitoring devices. The Samsung ARTIK platform provides a higher level of security that helps protect the data our sensor captures. It's been an incredible experience harnessing the power of Vayyar's sensors into the small and powerful IoT platform that is SAMSUNG ARTIK."
Curtis Sasaki, vice president of ecosystems for Samsung Electronics added, "When we first saw Vayyar's technology, we knew there was enormous potential for new innovative IoT use cases when paired with the SAMSUNG ARTIK platform. ARTIK platform's capability to enable local processing for advanced algorithms helps companies like Vayyar deliver breakthrough technologies and experiences. We hope SDC attendees will get to view and experience their real-time breathing patterns, as well as fall detection capabilities at the ARTIK booth."
Vayyar Imaging will demonstrate its capabilities at the Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) held in San Francisco from April 27-28th. Contact Vayyar at [email protected] to set up a meeting. Press can access the Vayyar media kit here.
