SALT LAKE CITY, Nov. 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Booth #4303 – The Imaging Components business of Varian Medical Systems (NYSE: VAR) will exhibit a broader array of products in a new booth (#4303) at the annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America in Chicago this year. The Varian exhibit at the meeting will feature X-ray components "At the Heart of Imaging." Products will include a new Cardinal CT tube, a line of products from Varian's Claymount brand, and computer-aided diagnostic software from MeVis as well as a broad line of X-ray tubes and flat panel image detectors for digital X-ray imaging.
"We have more to offer X-ray equipment designers and manufacturers than ever," said Sunny Sanyal, president of Imaging Components for Varian. "We are committed to offering our component customers integrated solutions that help them get their products to market more quickly. With today's product portfolio, we can integrate tubes, detectors, and software for image processing and computer-aided diagnostics as well as cables, connectors, and other important components needed for advanced digital imaging."
New digital X-ray imaging products to be showcased include:
Cardinal CT Tube – The new Cardinal CT tube is being designed into new CT equipment and is also a direct replacement for the Stargate/CTR-2150 tube. The Cardinal has a high heat capacity with excellent image quality and throughput allowing for quicker imaging, which translates into cost savings for medical facilities.
Claymount High Voltage Cables and Connectors – Combining quality and reliability, Claymount high voltage cables and connectors offer innovative high voltage interconnect solutions for medical X-ray applications. In addition to the Varian RSNA booth, Claymount will be showing its full line of products at RSNA booth #3506.
MeVis Computer-Aided Diagnostic Software – MeVis will feature an Online Academy Demo highlighting new lung screening solutions with improved workflow and diagnostic quality. The software features one-click segmentation of pulmonary nodules; automatic integration of prior findings; an integrated CAD (Computer-Aided Diagnostic) system; support for patient management; and state-of-the-art reporting according to current guidelines (Lung-RADS of the American College of Radiology). Based on radiological case collections, the MeVis Online Academy provides customized training opportunities in lung cancer screening and workflow. Other MeVis products on display will include innovative software for the analysis and processing of image data for screening breast, liver, prostate, and colon cancer.
MCS 6074 Replacement CT Tube – The MCS-6074 GE Performix® Replacement Tube now has a 12 month full replacement warranty and is compatible with many GE CT scanner models including: LightSpeed 16®, LightSpeed Ultra®, LightSpeed Plus®, LightSpeed QXi®, LightSpeed RT®, Discovery LS®, Discovery ST®, Discovery STE®, Discovery RX®, and the BrightSpeed® series.
LEO Radiographic Housing – Varian's new LEO radiographic housing is designed for 3" rotating anode inserts and allows customers to take full advantage of high heat load, high throughput, and quiet operation. The LEO comes in one standard configuration, creating a significant cost reduction.
PaxScan 4336W and PaxScan 2530W Wireless Detectors – The lightweight, cassette sized, portable 43cm x 36cm detector is optimized for dose efficiency, very low electronic noise, and consistently high wireless transmission rates. The space efficient 25cm x 30cm portable radiographic panel offers special imaging modes for imaging extremities and is compatible for neonatal procedures as well as mid-size radiographic applications such as dental Cone Beam CT (CBCT) and Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) procedures.
B-121 Mammography Housing – The B-121 is an air cooled mammography housing for digital and tomography applications that fits a standard three inch X-ray tube insert. Offering two shroud configurations – with and without quiet D/C fans – the B-121 provides 300 watts of continuous heat dissipation with fans, which is approximately 200% greater than standard mammography housings.
