VaraLogix Announces VaraLogix Q v4.0 Release
Load balancer management, dynamic release repositories, new drag & drop user interface, conditional process branching, enhanced parallel processing, and additional SCM support are a few of 15+ major features in VaraLogix Q v4.0.
AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- VaraLogix®, a leading provider of integrated Application Deployment and Configuration Management solutions, today announced general availability of VaraLogix Q v4.0. This latest release makes zero downtime deployment a reality with integrated, automatic load balancer management and more than 15 major new features. New features include a flexible release repository to dynamically store individual application components and component packages. A new graphical user interface has been added where users can drag and drop application content, view real-time status of deployments, instances, repositories, and the next environment destination within workflows and more – all in real time and all in one place. VaraLogix Q v4.0 includes conditional process branching and enhanced parallel processing capabilities with dependency trees for greater control and faster deployments. This new release also provides additional third party support for MS BizTalk®, MS Sharepoint®, Mercurial HG, Git, as well as support for the Sonatype Nexus Artifact Repository.
"Pushing deployments to production used to involve manually removing servers from the load balancer pool, updating application components, checking to make sure the new updates work, then adding servers back into the pool and reiterating this through all the load balancer servers," said Robin Fuller, VaraLogix Chief Technology Officer. "VaraLogix Q v4.0 provides the intelligence to perform fully automated, zero downtime rolling deployments. You can define any number of segments in a load balancer and push the deployment through those segments. It's just one of many well-defined techniques that are fully automated by VaraLogix Q v4.0."
"One of the differences between VaraLogix and other application deployment software vendors is how we define automation. So many times, other vendors consider automation to be nothing more than the ability to execute a simple script to invoke a task within a workflow. VaraLogix Q goes much deeper by providing deployment and configuration management intelligence that is far beyond scripting. We're continuing to raise the bar," said Tim Wall, VaraLogix CEO.
With VaraLogix Q, IT Operations, Development, QA, and Production teams can seamlessly automate physical, virtual and cloud environments as part of a standardized, repeatable and audit-ready way to execute complex application deployment. Q provides integrated, dependency-aware configuration management across the application ecosystem. Typical configuration management tools only address middleware configurations. VaraLogix Q automatically discovers, manages and corrects middleware configurations and the configurations of databases, operating systems, and environments within the deployment process – even if they reside on different servers. VaraLogix Q integrates with platforms and tools including IIS, JBoss, WebSphere, WebLogic, Tomcat, Apache, GlassFish, ClearCase, Build Forge, Perforce, Subversion, Oracle, MySql, MS SQL and more.
