VantagePoint Capital Partners Appoints David Miliband to CleanTech Advisory Council

SAN BRUNO, Calif. and LONDON, July 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- VantagePoint Capital Partners, the leading global investor in energy innovation and efficiency, reinforced its commitment to the global energy market by announcing the appointment of former UK Foreign Secretary David Miliband as a Senior Advisor on its CleanTech Advisory Council. He will advise the investment team on international opportunities and policy innovations.

Mr. Miliband is a British Labour Party politician who has been a Member of Parliament since 2001. He was Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs from 2007 to 2010, appointed by Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

Mr. Miliband also held a number of leading government posts during the administration of Prime Minister Tony Blair including Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in 2006. As an advocate for international awareness of climate change and a low-carbon global economy, he spearheaded the world's first legally binding framework for cutting carbon emissions.
