The new 8.2 version supports the upcoming release of IBM z/OS 1.12, and provides more than 100 ease of use, security control and reporting enhancements, including support for RACF Custom Fields.

• Better navigation and an updated user interface to improve productivity for users of Vanguard Security Center, the leading Windows GUI RACF administration tool. The new look-and-feel features of Windows Vista and Windows 7 include tabs, multiplatform displays and side-by-side comparisons of profiles.
• Leverage Custom Fields in RACF for improved accuracy with new Command Support that makes it easy to create and define Custom Fields within Vanguard Security Software Solutions without having to know native RACF commands.

Increased Security Controls

• Maintain tighter control over access to resources with new ownership-based policy creation capabilities that prevent unauthorized profile modifications to data set and general resource profiles.
• Respond rapidly to unauthorized changes in security postures with enhanced real-time active alerts that notify security personnel when privileged attributes are removed.
• Improve security monitoring and detection capabilities, and support for Sarbanes Oxley data integrity requirements, with expanded privileged user sensor capabilities that now include Protected and Restricted user attributes.
