Vanderbilt Mortgage Donates Homes to Blazing Hope Ranch

MARYVILLE, Tenn., Jan. 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance, Inc., a Berkshire Hathaway company, has given two modular homes to Blazing Hope Ranch, a nonprofit organization in Dayton, Tenn. that aids victims of human trafficking.

Vanderbilt Mortgage donated two four-bedroom/two-bathroom modular homes to Blazing Hope Ranch. The homes will be used to house survivors and live-in mentors while they go through the organization's program.

"David Haggard reached out to me, inquiring about low-cost housing options for Blazing Hope Ranch," Eric Hamilton, president of Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance, Inc., said. "After I visited the ranch and heard his mission, I knew we wanted to help this wonderful organization."

The Blazing Hope program takes in human trafficking victims and helps them through an 18-24-month survivor program where they can learn life skills and undergo equestrian-based therapy, using horses rescued from poor or abusive conditions.

"Blazing Hope Ranch is doing some great work for people who have gone through some truly tragic life experiences," Hamilton said. "I'm so glad we were able to provide these homes and hopefully make a difference in so many lives."
