Vance Thompson Vision Doctors Present Latest Innovations to Industry Leaders
Dr. Vance Thompson and Dr. John Berdahl lead discussions during the annual meetings of AAO and OIS
SIOUX FALLS, S.D., Nov. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Vance Thompson and Dr. John Berdahl of Vance Thompson Vision in Sioux Falls recently had the opportunity to present information about the work they've been doing to improve the ophthalmic industry during the annual meeting for the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) on October 15-18, 2016 in Chicago. They also presented during the Ophthalmology Innovation Summit (OIS) on October 13, 2016.
AAO is the world's largest association of eye physicians and surgeons and aims to protect sight and empower lives by setting standards for ophthalmic education and advocating for their patients and the public. This year's meeting revolved around the theme of "Innovate" and featured more than 1,000 presentations.
The annual meeting of OIS was held in Chicago prior to AAO and brought together more than 800 industry leaders to discuss ground-breaking ophthalmic technologies.
During AAO, Dr. Thompson moderated a panel on Innovation in Lasik surgery. He also presented about "Proper Patient Education and Patient Selection" and on the new "SMILE Refractive Procedure," technology recently approved by the FDA. Vance Thompson Vision was one of the investigative sites.

During OIS, he participated in a panel discussing the "Current State of Refractive Surgery," which was moderated by Dr. Thompson. Dr. Berdahl also served on advisory boards for ForSight Vision 5. Glaukos, Calhoun, Allergan, Imprimis and Dextenza.
