Clements, Ph.D., has joined the company as Vice President of Transformation, a new position that will focus on taking the organization and its partnerships to the next level of physical and mental health integration.
Dr. Clements previously served as the Director of the Office of Behavioral Health for the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS), where she was responsible for policy and oversight of state contracts for mental health, substance use disorders, recovery and prevention, and for managing two state psychiatric institutes. As the State Authority for Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders, she served as a consultant to multiple state agencies regarding services for individuals with behavioral health needs. Dr. Clements currently serves on the board of several national organizations in the field of health care, including the National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors, the National Research Institute, as well as the Council of State Government's Justice Center.
Prior to her work with CDHS, Dr. Clements served as the Chief Behavioral Health Officer for MO HealthNet, Missouri's Medicaid agency, and was responsible for developing and implementing policy related to the purchase and management of mental health and substance use services for approximately 5,000 enrolled Medicaid providers. She earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology and her Master of Education from the University of Missouri, and her B.A. in Sociology from Mid-America Nazarene University in Olathe, Kan.
As Vice President of Transformation, Dr. Clements will be responsible for taking ValueOptions Colorado Partnerships and its provider networks to the next level of integration by developing and implementing new initiatives; staying up-to-date on the latest integration trends and best practices; and ensuring that integration processes are driven by member outcomes and experiences.
