Value Of Water Coalition Spotlights Innovative Water Projects For Infrastructure Week 2015
The Value of Water Coalition announces events across the country as part of the annual Infrastructure Week 2015
WASHINGTON, May 8, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- As part of Infrastructure Week 2015, May 11-15 the Value of Water Coalition is hosting events across the country to spotlight the challenges facing water providers and water-reliant business and the innovative solutions they're implementing.
"During Infrastructure Week, we want people to remember that infrastructure isn't just the roads and bridges our cars drive over. Water infrastructure is critical to supporting thriving communities," said Radhika Fox, Director of the Value of Water Coalition. "Water is essential, but the challenges facing our water infrastructure systems are vast. During Infrastructure Week the coalition will highlight some of the innovative solutions that water providers are pursuing to be good environmental stewards, community partners and economic drivers."
Events will be held from May 11-15 in Cleveland, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Minneapolis. Media is welcome to attend all of the events. Cleveland - Monday, May 11-Thursday, May 14
The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District and Value of Water Coalition are hosting a tour across several days and locations. The Follow the Flow tour will include visits to facilities that are often unseen by the general public: a wastewater treatment plant, Easterly Tunnel Dewatering Pump Station and Wastewater Treatment Plant, and Edgewater Beach. The Metropolitan Policy Program, the Metropolitan Planning Council, and the Value of Water Coalition will host a half-day forum called "Broke, Broken, and Out of Time" about the challenges and opportunities facing infrastructure in Illinois. Interested media can contact [email protected].
Philadelphia Thursday, May 14th, 2015 8:00-10:00 am
WHYY, Philadelphia's NPR member station, the Value of Water Coalition, American Water and Philadelphia Water will host an interactive discussion called "What is the Value of Water? The Pennsylvania Story" about the state of water resources, infrastructure, and innovative investments in water systems across the city and state. Admission is free but registration here is required. San Francisco - Thursday, May 14, 7:30-9:30 am
The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission will host its 9th Annual SEPUC Construction Contractors Breakfast and discuss how investments in water infrastructure are investments in jobs and the community. Interested media can contact [email protected].
Minneapolis- Friday, May 15, 8:00-10:30 am
Dow Water and Process Solutions will join the Value of Water Coalition in hosting a forum called "Riding the Wave of Water Innovation," in which business, technology, and thought leaders will highlight the role of innovation in addressing local and national water challenges.
