Analyst Update: Dividends, Outlook Revision, Leadership Changes, and Settlement Agreements

The Wall Street witnessed fourth consecutive session of gains on Thursday as the European Central Bank (ECB) announced its much-anticipated bond-buying program aimed at reviving the Euro zone economy. The ECB announced that it will buy €60 million worth of bonds every month in a program which will last through September 2016. Cheering the ECB's move, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite indices closed the day up 1.53% and 1.78%, respectively, and also turned positive for the year. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended the session higher by 1.48%. Shares in Europe also continued the rally on Thursday, posting the biggest six-day gain in over three years. The Stoxx Europe 600 index jumped 1.7% to close at its highest level in over seven years. In Asia, markets mostly ended flat as investors awaited the outcome of the ECB meeting.
Baytex Energy Corp (Baytex Energy) has declared a cash dividend of C$0.10 per common share in respect of its January operations. The said dividend will be paid on February 13, 2015 to shareholders of record on January 30, 2015. The ex-dividend date is January 28, 2015.
Bellatrix Exploration Ltd (Bellatrix) has achieved its 2014 exit rate production guidance of 47,000 to 49,000 boe/d. However, the Company has revised its 2015 Capital Budget from $400 million to $300 million due to the recent rapid fall in crude oil prices.
BHP Billiton plc. (BHP Billiton) has appointed Adrian Wood as the Head of Investor Relations, effective February 18, 2015. Mr. Wood replaces Brendan Harris who was previously announced as CFO Elect of BHP Billiton's proposed demerged global metals and mining company, South32.
Bill Barrett Corporation (Bill Barrett) has entered into a settlement agreement with the Department of Interior and certain conservation organizations for its Cottonwood Gulch natural gas asset located on the Roan Plateau of Northwest Colorado. Under the settlement, the Department of Interior cancels approximately 36,000 gross acres of the 40,650 gross acres under lease and Bill Barrett receives a lease bonus refund of $42.3 million net to the Company.
Bonanza Creek Energy, Inc.'s (Bonanza Creek) Board has appointed Richard J. Carty as its President and CEO after its extensive nationwide search. Mr. Carty succeeds Marvin M. Chronister, Interim President and CEO, who will return to the Board as an Independent Director. The Board has also appointed James A. Watt to the non-executive Chairman position and Jeff E. Wojahn as a Class III Director.
