MINNEAPOLIS, June 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Valspar Foundation announced $64,000 in scholarship awards to 32 exceptional students pursuing postsecondary education. The Valspar Scholarship program recognizes scholastic and community achievement by the daughters and sons of Valspar employees, awarding $2,000 on a competitive basis.
"Valspar is pleased to support these exemplary students who have demonstrated high achievement in the classroom and noted service in their communities," said Gary E. Hendrickson, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Valspar.
The $64,000 in scholarships will be awarded in August for the 2015-2016 academic year. The awards are based on academic performance, demonstrated leadership, participation in school and community activities, work experience, career and educational goals and objectives, and an outside appraisal.
The students awarded Valspar Scholarships are:
