Valentine's Day Promotion Encourages CO2 Reduction Efforts In Southern California
The app 'My Open Road' has teamed up with Wahoo's Fish Taco to promote energy conservation during the '5th Annual Cheap Date' promotion, offers two for one platters for customers who spend more time biking, walking and skating.
ORANGE COUNTY, Calif., Feb. 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- To show love for the earth this Valentine's Day, My Open Road, a first of its kind app that encourages social energy conservation, has teamed up with Wahoo's Fish Taco to cut CO2 emissions by encouraging Southern Californians to spend more time outside of the car this week.
"Through the My Open Road app, we've created an entire marketing ecosystem surrounding conservation efforts," said Jeff Weiss, creator of My Open Road (MOR) (http://www.myopenroad.com). The former Disney Imagineer and creator of the social energy conservation application for iPhone and Android says the promotion will be the first of many to come.
"The great thing about this app is it allows businesses to market to their customers in a socially responsible way," said Weiss. "By encouraging users to 'earn' their discount, you have more engaged consumers. Businesses can market their products while helping to measurably reduce carbon emissions."
The 5th Annual Cheap Day Valentine's Day promotion from February 14th through February 15th 2015 will award a free #1 Combo Meal of fish, marinated steak or other protein with the purchase of a comparable item at Wahoo's Fish Taco locations throughout Southern California for those who have a 'Social Responsibility Score,' or 'SRS' of 800 or higher. The SRS is calculated in the MOR app by averaging the last ten trips of the user, rewarding a higher score for biking, skating or walking than driving in a car. The app calculates the amount of CO2 saved through the user's effort, allowing the user to see the positive impact they're having through its use.
The MOR app, which made its official launch at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last month, is available for download free of charge.
