Valencia Technologies to Present its Clinical Data for the First Time at EuroPCR 2015
VALENCIA, Calif., May 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- At EuroPCR 2015 in Paris, France, Valencia Technologies Corporation ("Valencia") will present for the first time its technology and clinical data to the scientific community on Tuesday, May 19, 2015.
Valencia's global principal investigator, Mark Webster, MD, of University of Auckland, will speak as part of the Cardiovascular Innovation Pipeline (Hypertension) session from 17:00 to 18:30 in Room 252A. The title of the lecture is, "Neuromodulation by median nerve stimulation: a novel approach to refractory hypertension." The conference is located at the Palais des Congres.
Dr. Webster will speak about neuromodulation, about the science underlying this first device experience with median nerve stimulation for the treatment of hypertension, about Valencia's trial design, and about Valencia's clinical results in its near complete 48 person multicenter, double-blinded trial.
Valencia's coin-sized neurostimulator is one of several non-drug therapies for the treatment of resistant hypertension in clinical testing. Other non-drug therapies include renal denervation and carotid baroreflex stimulation. FDA has not yet approved for market a non-drug therapy to treat hypertension.
