Vacaville Gets A New Look

Visit Vacaville and the City of Vacaville Economic Development Department Roll Out New Brand

VACAVILLE, Calif., Dec. 1, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- After months of research, Visit Vacaville along with the City of Vacaville Economic Development Department is introducing a new brand package designed to help promote tourism and bring new business to the city.

"Branding is a great tool to differentiate Vacaville from other cities and destinations. It helps a city stand out, and allows us to communicate our vision of Vacaville," says Visit Vacaville CEO Melyssa Laughlin.

The branding process started in August 2014 with several months of survey research carried out by Believable Brands. That was followed by creative brand development by Merring-Carson/Emcee Designs of Northern California.

Information gathered through the surveys will be used to elevate the features and benefits of Vacaville both as a tourist destination as well as an ideal location for new business, marketing the city as a tight-knit, family-friendly community with an eye toward the future and a passion for innovation.

"People choose where to live, do business and vacation based on a location's reputation," Laughlin added. "Creating and advertising our city's reputation is very important to attracting visitors and improving the economy."

The brand package will include new logos and taglines for Visit Vacaville, the city's destination marketing organization, and the city's economic development efforts. Community partners such as the Downtown Vacaville Business Improvement District and the Vacaville Chamber of Commerce will adopt coordinating logos as well.

"There is a direct relationship between the success of the city's brand and the businesses that call that place home," said Don Burrus, Interim Economic Development Manager for the City of Vacaville. "Good branding can help economic development growth because it makes our city look more professional, cohesive and resourceful. Companies aren't just looking at cities, they are evaluating communities. Not just can we do business here, but can we raise our children here, be entertained here and generally enjoy living here?"

The logo and tagline will be used on a variety of Visit Vacaville materials, including stationary, business cards, promotional items and advertising.
