UW Students, Alumni, Friends and Supporters Across the Globe Come Together on November 4th to Celebrate W Day
Online and on-campus celebrations, purple landmarks and retail discounts mark the 150th anniversary of the University's first day of classes

W Day – A celebration of 150 years of Husky spirit

We invite you to join the UW as it celebrates W Day – a global spirit day as part of the University's 150th anniversary year. UW President Michael Young will be joined by Husky athletes and basketball coach Lorenzo Romar, as well as mascots Dubs and Harry, for a brief address and pep rally to kick off the day's festivities. 4,000 free W Day t-shirts and Cupcake Royale cupcakes will be given out while supplies last. Dave "Softy" Mahler from KJR AM 950 will broadcast live from Red Square from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
Huskies in Seattle and around the world will show their Husky pride at campus events in Seattle, Tacoma and Bothell, on Facebook and Twitter and at landmarks and businesses around the Puget Sound.
