MUNDELEIN, Ill., Oct. 30, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Utopia Global, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise data solutions and a long-time SAP partner, announced that as a part of its global reseller agreement with SAP (NYSE: SAP), SAP will resell Utopia's Enterprise Asset Management Workbench™ solution under the name SAP® Asset Information Workbench by Utopia.
This application, which is also premium qualified by SAP to run on SAP S/4HANA® 1610, addresses a long-standing challenge for asset-intensive industries: synchronization of structured data and unstructured content across multiple systems of record, including engineering, procurement, construction companies and vendors. SAP Asset Information Workbench, leveraging the SAP Master Data Governance application, provides an easy-to-use, intuitive visualization of digital content in a single, unified environment. This solution complements and expands the functionality available in SAP Master Data Governance, enterprise asset management (EAM) extension by Utopia. It also enables creation of complex, multi-object change requests for EAM master data objects. The solution supports standard add-on connectors to systems of record such as GIS, engineering design, reliability, content management and SAP ERP.
"SAP Asset Information Workbench is only the latest in a series of innovations that our customers have come to expect from Utopia," said Arvind Singh, CEO of Utopia Global, Inc. "Integration of structured and unstructured asset information from multiple sources and heterogeneous formats into a single unified environment is a significant breakthrough for the EAM industry. Our expertise in this space will allow us to help enterprises increase productivity and reduce cost."
"SAP Asset Information Workbench is a natural complement to SAP Asset Intelligence Network and SAP Master Data Governance, which help ensure the highest integrity of structured data and unstructured content in the digital core," said Hans Thalbauer, SVP, Digital Supply Chain and Internet of Things, SAP SE.
Benefits of the solution include:
- Accurate and complete asset master data, which is a cornerstone for safe and efficient operations in asset-intensive industries.
- Synchronization of comprehensive asset master data among multiple systems of record, which has an impact on reducing environmental, health and safety risks.
- Improved operational performance and regulatory compliance.
Projected savings include:
- Reduction in costs for information foundation creation by 10 to 20 percent with a magnitude of 1 to 3 percent of capital project costs.
- Increase of over 1 percent in plant availability.
- Reduction of returns of maintenance and repair operations (MRO) materials by up to 30 percent.
- Improvement of shop floor productivity by up to 50 percent.
