UTICA, N.Y., June 2, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Ariel Ramirez, a longtime member of the Utica College Economic Crime and Cybersecurity Institute (ECCI) Board of Advisors, has been appointed a senior executive leader at Deloitte Colombia and Perú.
This new leadership position is in the area of forensic investigation, including disputes, anti-bribery/corruption and services pertaining to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Ramirez will hold this position in Colombia, with his duties expanding into Peru as well, as the practice services leader.
Deloitte, a global company that provides financial consulting services, is comprised of many independent firms across the world, each providing consultation for that specific location's regulations and laws.
Ramirez has extensive experience in the field of fraud examination, having provided consultation to multiple Fortune 500 companies as well as federal agencies in the U.S. Prior to his new position, Ramirez was the president and CEO of RKA Worldwide Group LLC, a global management-consulting firm as well as a forensic audit investigations executive at Siemens AG of Germany, a $100 billion electrical engineering company.
Ramirez is a long-serving member of the Utica College ECCI Board of Advisors, a board with a goal of providing valuable industry expertise and counsel with regards to Economic Crime Investigation curriculum development, faculty recruitment and more.
Utica College's landmark Economic Crime Investigation program, now titled Fraud and Financial Crime Investigation (FFCI), was the first of its kind in the United States, established in 1988 with consult from the ECCI. Focusing on the study of non-violent crimes committed for financial gain via fraud and duplicity, the program offers two concentrations: fraud prevention/detection and financial investigation. The integrative curriculum offers multiple courses with a variety of focuses.
