"We're absolutely thrilled for John to take the leadership reins of the board," said Russell Unger, executive director, Urban Green Council. "John has been a green building leader since the earliest days of the movement, and is greatly respected by the rest of his fellow directors, the Urban Green staff and broader green building community. We look forward to being challenged by his strategic thinking and international perspective."
The mission of Urban Green Council is to advance the sustainability of urban buildings through education, advocacy and research. In 2013, Urban Green's educational events reached more than 3,000 people, earning more than 2,500 hours of continuing education credits. Mandyck's appointment is an extension of his current work with organizations and universities around the world to accelerate green building.
