UTC Aerospace Systems to Display Diverse System Capabilities at Farnborough Airshow 2014
CHARLOTTE, N.C., July 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- UTC Aerospace Systems at next week's Farnborough Airshow will showcase a full range of advanced systems for commercial aircraft, rotorcraft and defense applications. The 2014 Farnborough Airshow takes place in Farnborough, UK, July 14 - 20. UTC Aerospace Systems is a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).
The UTC Propulsion & Aerospace Systems pavilion (OE-3) will be located adjacent to hall one. The centerpiece of the pavilion will be a Pratt & Whitney PurePower PW1500G engine, complete with a UTC Aerospace Systems nacelle system. Designed and manufactured to leverage the latest in composite technology, the PurePower PW1500G nacelle system directly contributes to significant reductions in fuel burn, emissions, noise and operating costs.
Additionally, visitors will have a chance to experience UTC Aerospace Systems' SmartDisplay® Electronic Flight Bag (EFB), as well as the tablet-compatible EFB System which allows a user's tablet device to perform as an EFB and access an array of key aircraft avionics data, enhancing safety and increasing access and efficiency.
The advanced TERPROM® digital terrain system on display at the UTC Aerospace Systems exhibit is the only terrain awareness and warning system of its capability on the market. It successfully blends and interprets the inputs of a diverse array of sensors to provide pilots with full situational awareness, enabling them to fly far more safely and effectively. The real-time simulation will give visitors a chance to see the system in action as they pilot an aircraft across varied terrain.
Other products on display include UTC Aerospace Systems' rescue hoist, VIP seating, cockpit control, actuation, ram air turbine and airborne reconnaissance capabilities. Technical teams will be on hand throughout the show for expert demonstrations and to answer questions on all UTC Aerospace Systems products.
