UTC Aerospace Systems extends long term C.A.R.E. agreement with Japan Airlines for maintenance support on Boeing 787
PARIS AIR SHOW, Paris, June 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- UTC Aerospace Systems has extended its Comprehensive Accessory Repair and Exchange (C.A.R.E.) program with Japan Airlines to include an additional 10 Boeing 787 aircraft added to the airline's fleet. Under the C.A.R.E. program, UTC Aerospace Systems provides asset management and repair services for components on the Boeing 787 operated by Japan Airlines. UTC Aerospace Systems is a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
With the C.A.R.E. program expansion, UTC Aerospace Systems will provide inventory support and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for a total of 45 Boeing 787 aircraft including 25 B787-8 and 20 B787-9. The B787-9 will be introduced to Japan Airlines' fleet in June 2015.
Products supported under the agreement include the electric power system, air management system, nitrogen generation system, emergency power system, and primary and remote power distribution systems of JAL's 787 fleet. The initial C.A.R.E. program with JAL started in 2012 and will be in effect until 2025.
