UTC Aerospace Systems donates $100,000 to help support wounded service members through Wounded Warrior Project®
CHARLOTTE, N.C., Nov. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- UTC Aerospace Systems is proud to support the nation's veterans with the donation of $100,000 to Wounded Warrior Project® through its ISR & Space Systems business. A check presentation event was held at the Windsor Locks, Connecticut, facility today. UTC Aerospace Systems is a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
This is the fifth consecutive year that UTC Aerospace Systems has supported Wounded Warrior Project, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors. Other veterans' recognition and fundraising events are planned at eight ISR & Space Systems locations across the country during Veterans' Week.
The $100,000 donation will help support Wounded Warrior Project programs which address the urgent and long-term needs of this generation's injured service members and their families.

"Our commitment to service personnel extends beyond the battlefield, and we are proud to show our support for veterans when they return home."
The ISR & Space Systems business has also invited injured veterans to share their stories at eight of its facilities. "Supporting veterans is important to our employees, and hearing from the injured veterans makes a strong connection to the work our employees do every day," said Bergeron.

Over 52,000 servicemen and women have been physically injured in the recent military conflicts. In addition to the physical wounds, it is estimated as many as 400,000 service members live with the invisible wounds of war including combat-related stress, major depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Another 320,000 are believed to have experienced a traumatic brain injury while on deployment.
