UTC Aerospace and Revima to Bring Landing Gear Repair Capability to the Middle East
CHARLOTTE, N.C., Nov. 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- UTC Aerospace Systems and Revima Group today announced a long-term agreement to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for landing gear systems on Boeing 777-300ER aircraft operated by Emirates. While the service agreement with Emirates remains under the prime responsibility of Revima, a portion of the work scope will now take place at the Goodrich Customer Services Inc. maintenance, repair and overhaul campus in Dubai. UTC Aerospace Systems is a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).
This relationship provides Emirates with an in-country point of contact for landing gear service needs. Goodrich Customer Services Inc. will perform initial services on the landing gear before shipping to Revima's Caudebec-En-Caux, France, facility for the overhaul.
"We are pleased to work with Revima to bring landing gear capability to Dubai and ultimately deliver a robust supply chain solution for Emirates' service needs," said Ajay Agrawal, UTC Aerospace Systems Vice President of Aftermarket. "We have continued to focus on positioning capability and capacity close to our customers to effectively meet their needs, and we look forward to supporting continued growth in the Middle East region."
"We are delighted that UTC Aerospace Systems and Revima have collaborated on a solution to provide Emirates with in-country landing gear service support," said Iain Lachlan, Emirates Divisional Senior Vice President, Engineering. "This relationship will help ensure that Emirates' fleet of 777-300ER aircraft receives the highest service levels through a local facility based in the UAE."
In addition to Dubai, this relationship also provides Emirates with contingency access to UTC Aerospace Systems' global network of repair facilities, including sites in Miami, Florida, and Oakville, Canada.
