Utah Valley CVB Launches UVTogether.com
New Online Resource Prevents Springtime Boredom
PROVO, Utah, March 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Utah Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau (UVCVB), the official destination marketing organization for Utah County, introduced today its newest event website, UVTogether.com. The online resource highlights popular annual events, giveaways, festival videos, and opportunities for group gatherings in Utah County.
"Located 45 miles south of the Salt Lake City International Airport and along the I-15 corridor, Utah Valley's central location is an ideal gathering place for family get-togethers and extended business vacations," said Joel Racker, President and CEO of the UVCVB. "Many of our events are growing in popularity and we wanted to provide an interactive site for those searching this spring for upcoming activities."
UVTogether.com houses event details and registration information on four of the region's most popular events: the Tulip Festival, the Utah Valley Marathon, the Princess Festival and the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival.
Thanksgiving Point's annual Tulip Festival features 250,000 tulips of more than 100 varieties, spread across 55 acres of European landscaped gardens. More than 46,000 attendees flock to the flowers each year, making it one of the season's most popular attractions. Garden tours and demonstrations are also available for interested parties.
With a 26.2-mile route that descends 2,000 feet in elevation along the Provo Canyon Scenic Byway, the Utah Valley Marathon's impressive mountain views attract 8,000 marathon and half-marathon runners annually. The race, considered one of the fastest in the nation, is USATF certified and serves as an official Boston Marathon qualifier.
Founded in 2008, the Princess Festival allows young girls, ages 3 to 10, to be a princess for a day and seek their own fairytale adventures. Costumed characters guide visitors on a magical journey as they assist with a variety of captivating activities. The Festival is expected to draw 20,000 attendees in 2012.
Nestled at the base of Mount Timpanogos, the 23rd annual Timpanogos Storytelling Festival attracts more than 30,000 visitors from across North America. As the largest storytelling festival in the West, the Festival has honed a reputation for bringing the best storytellers from around the country.
