LIMA, Ohio, July 13, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- United Steelworkers (USW) Local 624 will hold a rally tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. in Faurot Park on Lakeshore Drive in Lima to support the workers engaged in an unfair labor practice strike at Husky Energy.

USW officials and members will speak about what the workers need to return to work and the importance to them of having time with their families.
Local 624 members were forced to go on strike because of Husky's unfair labor practices (ULPs). ULP charges were filed with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). Since then the company has become more combative and proposals have become less reasonable.
The workers' main concern is getting time to spend with their families. USW members work around the clock at Husky on rotating 12-hour shifts and often work scheduled days off, holidays, evenings and weekends. Husky now wants to eliminate longstanding arrangements the union negotiated at no cost or inconvenience to the company that provide workers the ability to attend their children's events and other family functions.
