The BART board of directors is scheduled to vote on a $2.5 billion contract to build a fleet of modern rail cars.
Bob LaVenture, Director for USW District 12, says the USW and a coalition of Bay area supporters want BART to bring the top two bidders back to the table and insist the train cars are made in America to benefit taxpayers and to sustain the domestic economy by keeping jobs here.
