USSABC to Promote Saudi Mining Industry at MINExpo®
VIENNA, Va., Sept. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The U.S.-Saudi Arabian Business Council (USSABC) is hosting a number of events at MINExpo® International in Las Vegas, NV to promote business opportunities for U.S. companies in the Saudi mining industry.
This year, the U.S. Commercial Service is bringing a delegation of over 50 representatives from some of the largest Saudi companies involved in the mining industry, including the Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma'aden), Al Abdulkarim Holding Co., and Zamil Group Holding., among others.
On Tuesday, September 25th the USSABC, in collaboration with the U.S. Commercial Service, will present a seminar on new developments in the sector. The panel will provide an overview of the major mining and manufacturing projects in Saudi Arabia and explore new opportunities for U.S. businesses in the Kingdom's mining industry. This seminar is free of charge and open to all MINExpo® exhibitors, attendees, and media.
Speakers at the event will include The Honorable James B. Smith, U.S. Ambassador to Saudi Arabia; Eng. Khalid bin Saleh Al-Mudaifer, Chief Executive Officer of Ma'aden; and Amer Kayani, Minister Counselor for Commercial Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The panel will be moderated by Edward Burton, President and Managing Director of the USSABC. The seminar will take place from 2:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Room #N238.
The USSABC and member company Immersive Technologies will also host a networking reception in honor of the visiting delegation of Saudi companies at the show. The reception will be held in the LaFleur Room of the Wynn Hotel from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. The event is open to U.S. industry representatives seeking to meet members of the visiting delegation.
During MINExpo®, USSABC staff will be available to provide information for U.S. companies interested in learning more about business opportunities in the Saudi market at the USSABC booth -- #24420 in the South Hall.
The Saudi mining sector is poised for significant growth in the coming years, and the government recognizes that private sector participation is required to develop a sophisticated industry with optimized output. Investments totaling more than $25 billion are ongoing in mining and downstream processing of phosphate, bauxite, and industrial minerals, in addition to new mining training programs.
