BOSTON, Sept. 21, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- USR ID Inc. today announced that Leash™, its mobile phone computer proximity lock, now sends a photo alert to a user's phone if it detects activity on a locked computer when the user is away. This feature, a free upgrade for subscribers, offers an added layer of security to the patented three-factor authentication, making Leash the most secure personal identification proxy in the world.
Using the feature is simple. As always, Leash protects your computer through your mobile phone by locking when you walk away and unlocking as you approach with the phone. With the new Tamper Alert enabled, any unauthorized use of the computer's keyboard, track pad or mouse will trigger the locked computer's camera to snap a photo and send a push notification to the user's mobile phone. The timestamped photo alert can be viewed in the app's audit trail, which provides users with a running log of the date and time of all login and logout activity on the protected computer.
Leash is the easy, secure way to lock and unlock your computer with the proximity of your mobile phone. With USR ID's Token app running on your phone and Leash software installed on a computer, your computer is ready to work when you are, unlocking and locking as you come and go with your phone.
"The mobile workforce, small business owners and consumers are discovering that Leash is the conveniently secure solution to ensure their computers are safe in today's unsecure world," said founder and CEO Kenneth P. Weiss. "Our philosophy is to continue to improve our products with useful, innovative features, like Tamper Alert, and to bring them to users at an affordable price."
Leash is available in affordable three, six and 12-month subscription plans for Mac OS and the accompanying USR ID Token mobile app is available for iPhone. An Android token, which is in beta testing, and Leash for Windows, currently in development, will round out the Leash product line.
