USO of Metropolitan Washington Recognizes SAIC as One Star Level Member of Second Annual Circle of Stars
Company Honored for Its Commitment to Serving the Troops and their Families
MCLEAN, Va., Oct. 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) [NYSE: SAI] announced today the USO of Metropolitan Washington (USO-Metro) has recognized the company as a One Star Level member of its annual Circle of Stars for its commitment to serving the troops and their families. The company has also been honored as one of USO-Metro's top corporate donors.
SAIC will be formally recognized at the 2nd annual Stars and Stripes event on Oct. 11 at the Sheraton Pentagon City Hotel in Arlington, Va. SAIC, USO-Metro and the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) recently sponsored the Washington Nationals' "Heroes Day," a special commemorative event during the team's home game honoring not only victims and survivors of 9/11, but also active duty service members, wounded warriors, those whose lives were lost serving their nation and the families they left behind. SAIC provided 1,000 tickets to military families and survivors to attend Heroes Day.
