USmax announces eligibility for re-certification as a Minority Business Enterprise / Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (MBE/DBE)

GAMBRILLS, Md., Sept. 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- USmax Corporation, a leading provider of Information Technology (IT) consulting services, announced today it is eligible to continue its certification as a Minority Business Enterprise / Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (MBE/DBE) and/or Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) under the Maryland Department of Transportation, Office of Minority Business Enterprise Program.

Under the Current MBE program, all state agencies are required to structure their procurements to achieve an overall minimum goal of 25% of the total dollar value of their procurement contracts directly or indirectly from certified MBE firms. Firms certified as MBEs may participate as MBE prime contractors or as MBE subcontractors on State contracts. Firms certified as DBEs may participate as DBEs on USDOT-assisted contracts from the State Highway Administration, Maryland Aviation Administration, and Maryland Transit Administration.
