Use Your iPhone to Create Expense Reports With Expensify's New App
SAN FRANCISCO, April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- At today's Future of Money and Technology Summit, Expensify announced a new mobile application that will allows users to create and submit expense reports in a matter of minutes right from their iPhone. With the release of the new app today, Expensify makes it even easier to manage expenses without ever touching a paper receipt or using a computer, making business travel a lot more manageable.
With the International Data Corporation forecasting that 75% of the U.S. workforce will be mobile by 2011, keeping track of expenses associated with business travel is becoming even more crucial. As the world continues to go paperless, the requirements for submitting receipts for meals, airfare, travel and lodging expenses over $75 are becoming a logistical nightmare. The Expensify iPhone app lets users import expense data from their credit cards, manage all of their receipts online and create expense reports from the convenience of their iPhone. Traditionally a painful process, Expensify makes expense reports fast and easy for everyone involved.
"Tracking your purchases might be easy enough, but reporting what you spent is tedious," said David Barrett, CEO of Expensify. "We've developed a way to make reporting expenses, particularly business travel expenses, simple. No other iPhone app can offer all the expense reporting features needed for a stress-free business trip followed by a low-effort expense reporting process like Expensify."
Existing iPhone expense report apps are limited to a small subset of the problem: logging expenses and scanning receipts. The Expensify app takes it to the next level, letting you import your credit cards, scan receipts, create and submit full expense reports that comply with your company's expense policy. Take charge and manage your expenses: add cash purchases, snap images of receipts, even when offline. The added items are synced up to your Expensify account the next time you run the app with an internet connection. Expensify also provides additional support for the entire expense reporting workflow on their site – after submitting your report, your manager can approve the expenses online and your company accounting department can reimburse you electronically via direct deposit. Additionally, Expensify offers tight integrations with QuickBooks™, FreshBooks, Google Apps, and Salesforce.
The new Expensify iPhone app gives you the ability to:
- Create and submit an entire expense report
- Import expenses directly from a bank and 94% of U.S. credit card companies
- Capture all receipts in an easy-to-view format
- Log and track business mileage
- View, add and edit cash expenses in real-time
The Expensify iPhone app will be available for download later this week from the iTunes store. The easiest way to get will be by searching for "Expensify" right in the app store. Expensify also makes apps for the BlackBerry, Android and Palm Pre platforms.
