USCHPA Announces Leadership Change

WASHINGTON, Jan. 25, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The United States Combined Heat & Power Association (USCHPA) today announced the appointment of Dale Louda as the organization's new Executive Director.  Louda, who has spent more than 25 years as an energy and environment professional, begins his new duties effective immediately.

USCHPA Board Chair Joseph Allen of Solar Turbines (Caterpillar's gas turbine subsidiary) commented, "Everyone in the USCHPA family is delighted that Dale has agreed to lead our organization. The U.S. Combined Heat and Power Association is the leading voice for the CHP industry.  Combined heat and power technologies produce both electricity and steam or hot water from a single fuel source and have the added benefit of being located near the consumer. These efficient systems recover heat that normally would be wasted if traditional separate electrical power generation and thermal energy production methods were used.  Currently supplying twelve percent of U.S. electricity generating capacity, CHP systems can reach efficiencies above eighty percent (80%).
