LOS ANGELES, Feb. 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Less than nine months after graduating its first class, the Online MBA (OMBA) offered by the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California earned the #8 ranking from U.S. News & World Report for Best Online MBA Programs, up four positions from last year's rankings.
Marshall launched the new program from the ground up in fall 2015. Marshall built its OMBA to take full advantage of the latest technological learning tools and to leverage the existing USC teaching and learning community through on-campus experiences. This approach provides students not only with an exceptionally engaging online learning experience, but also with practical skills in virtual communication and analytics to prepare them for today's digitally-driven business environments.
The Marshall OMBA attracts students from a diverse array of educational and professional backgrounds and earned 11th place for selectivity among more than 280 participants in the U.S. News Best Online MBA Programs ranking. This diversity provides distance learners with multiple perspectives, which they report enhances the learning process and expands their overall knowledge of the business world.
"We look forward to sustaining the success of the Online MBA program well into the digital future by maintaining our dedication to delivering an innovative, high-touch, advanced business education to accomplished working professionals who need online flexibility to stay on track while earning their degree," said Sandra Chrystal, Ph.D, Marshall Vice Dean for Online Education.
Both USC and the Marshall School have built a strong pay-it-forward culture that benefits students during their studies and long after they graduate. The OMBA engages students in networking throughout the program, and distance learners become full-fledged members of the Trojan Family, which is more than 390,000 members strong and includes 88,000 Marshall alumni in 92 countries.
