Cloudburst Group Wins Land Tenure and Resource Rights Award from USAID. Contract is sole award to a small business under the STARR Program.
LANDOVER, Md., Aug. 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) awarded an Indefinite Quantity Contract (IQC) to Cloudburst Consulting Group, Inc. on August 2, 2012. The contract was the sole award to a small business by USAID under the Strengthening Tenure and Resource Rights (STARR) program.
This award provides Cloudburst with the opportunity to compete with other award winners for Task Orders issued under the IQC, which has a combined ceiling of $700M, and includes a small business set-aside.
USAID defines its objective under STARR as, "address[ing] resource tenure issues in support of key U.S. Government (USG) strategic objectives, including but not limited to, enhanced food security as articulated in the Feed the Future Initiative (FTF); climate change adaptation and mitigation; conflict prevention and mitigation; economic growth; biodiversity protection and natural resource management; and reduction in the spread of infectious diseases (specifically HIV/AIDS)." STARR will be managed by USAID's Land Tenure and Property Rights Division in Washington; programming will occur worldwide.
Since its founding in 2005 Cloudburst has focused its energy on improving the effectiveness of programs that serve underserved socially and economically disadvantaged persons in the U.S. and abroad. Cloudburst has been a USAID implementing partner since 2008, providing leadership in environmental compliance, knowledge management, communications, and evaluation services.
"We are both excited and honored by this award," stated Cloudburst President J. Patrick Moynahan, upon notice of award. "We look forward to applying our company's skill sets to support the Land Tenure and Property Rights Division and USAID Missions across the globe in securing land tenure and property rights for USAID beneficiaries."
