WASHINGTON, May 24 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Sabrina M. The new award is named after Mike Causey, who spent much of a long career dedicated to reporting on federal workforce management and federal pay and benefits issues.
Ms. Segal was principally recognized for designing and developing Ethipedia, an ethics-focused wiki for Agency employees and an online collaboration space where USAID attorneys in Washington, D.C. and overseas could share information and collaborate on challenging issues, including ethics rules and complex areas of procurement
Built with open-source software, Ethipedia lets employees have access to up-to-date ethics information no matter what time zone they are in. It also allows them to post questions or have conversations with ethics advisors. USAID is proud of its ethics training program, and this tool has been a low-cost value-added component to an already award-winning-program.
"I appreciate being recognized for USAID's ethics work so far, but there is so much more we can do with technology to provide added value to the way we do business," Ms. Segal said. "With technology comes responsibility – and as Federal employees we owe it to our colleagues and the public to be responsible with our use of new and emerging tools."
Working in the Office of the General Counsel, Ms. Segal covers all areas of federal ethics regulations and supports other USAID offices. She also provides guidance on technology, including cloud computing, privacy, information-sharing, and national security issues.
