USACI teams up with Tegile Systems to Amp Up XenWinGo Cloud Services
Tegile arrays help USACI to deliver its XenWinGo suite of Desktop-as-a-Service (DAAS), Virtual Disaster Recovery (VDR) and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IAAS) offerings
NEWARK, Calif., July 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Tegile Systems (www.tegile.com), a leading
provider of hybrid storage arrays for virtualized server and virtual desktop environments, today announced that USACI, a growing professional services firm with a specialty in providing hands-on services to help its clients resolve problems, increase performance, upgrade existing products, and assist in database design and tuning has implemented Tegile Zebi arrays to supercharge its XenWinGo cloud services.

USACI provides programming services for custom applications, technical support, training, QA testing and maintenance. From product development and project management through implementation and support, USACI helps customers manage IT improvements from beginning to end – from formulating the big-picture plan to addressing the smallest detail.
Through its cloud computing service subsidiary, XenWinGo, USACI offers a robust and secure cloud solution for small and midsize businesses looking to leverage the technology's flexibility to match a company's changing needs. The range of services XenWinGo offers include:
- XenWinGo Cloud Services offers offsite storage repository and accessibility to data via legacy devices the company is currently using or provides.
- XenWinGo Dynamic Cloud offers cloud access with end-user thin clients – designed for startup companies who have not yet purchased devices or those who want to guarantee their data stays in the cloud and is not downloaded by users. Clients using the Dynamic Cloud see the greatest ROI, saving on laptop/desktop refreshes and energy consumption.
- XenWinGo Hyper Cloud is a private-cloud solution designed for companies that want their live data to remain within their internal computing infrastructure. XenWinGo delivers and manages a fully configured physical server with encrypted HA backups run daily to an active DR site.
USACI needed an enterprise-class storage array that could handle the performance and capacity demands required to deliver its solutions and services to its clients. The company had a SAN solution in place that wasn't performing to its expectations with frequent failures jeopardizing the high availability and disaster recovery used by XenWinGo's Dynamic and Hybrid cloud offerings.
After vetting Tier 1 solutions from vendors including NetApp and EMC, USACI discovered Zebi storage arrays from Tegile that combined reliable, highly available hardware with optimized, simple-to-administer software that could deliver the perfect balance of performance, capacity, features and price. After a brief two-hour installation process and an additional two to three hours to configure the storage repository for its hypervisors, USACI had Zebi up and running in a Microsoft computing farm complete with Citrix XenServers. Tegile arrays help USACI deliver its suite of Desktop-as-a-Service (DAAS), Virtual Disaster Recovery (VDR) and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IAAS) offerings to SMB clients looking to leverage the benefits that larger organizations enjoy without the management headaches of complex IT environments.
Since going live, the Tegile Zebi storage arrays have been providing XenWinGo with outstanding performance, allowing the company to perform updates without needing to take the system offline. Concurrent backup of a TB of data on eight virtual machines takes only about 40 minutes, far faster than USACI's previous SAN solution performed.
According to USASCI president Mark Gigliotti, I was so impressed with the Tegile solution that we have also become a reseller of Zebi storage arrays. They have become the primary storage solution recommended to customers during the system design phase for those in the midmarket that have either no SAN or an inadequate one and cannot afford more expensive solutions, such as NetApp."
According to Tegile Vice President of Marketing Rob Commins, Tegile's unique architecture offers unparalleled functionality, flexibility and ease of use. This allows USACI to offer its customers a way to cut storage expenditures in half, triple performance and easily manage resources without the need for additional staff."
About Tegile Systems
Tegile Systems is pioneering a new generation of enterprise storage arrays that balance performance, capacity, features and price for virtualization, file services and database applications. With Tegile's Zebi line of hybrid storage arrays, the company is redefining the traditional approach to storage by providing a family of arrays that is significantly faster than all hard disk-based arrays and significantly less expensive than all solid-state disk-based arrays.
Tegile's patented MASS technology accelerates the Zebi's performance and enables on-the-fly de-duplication and compression of data so each Zebi has a usable capacity far greater than its raw capacity. Tegile's award-winning technology solutions enable customers to better address the requirements of server virtualization, virtual desktop integration and database integration than other offerings. Featuring both NAS and SAN connectivity, Tegile arrays are easy-to-use, fully redundant, and highly scalable. They come complete with built-in auto-snapshot, auto-replication, near-instant recovery, onsite or offsite failover, and virtualization management features.
