USACA Announces Dates for Senior Men's and Women's National Championships
LAKE WORTH, Fla., Oct. 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The national governing body for cricket in the USA, the United States of America Cricket Association (USACA) today announced dates for the 2016 National Championships. All USACA regions are invited to participate in the men's tournament. The women's event will feature two teams where an eastern conference team will play against a western conference team.
Dates: Friday, November 18 – Sunday, November 20, 2016
Venue: Central Broward Regional Park, Lauderhill, FL
Format: T20
The 2016 US National Cricket Championships is open to all USACA members. Each Region will work with the leagues in their respective region to prepare teams for participation in the National Championship. An added incentive for players to compete in the National Championships this year lies in the fact that USACA will be assessing individuals for player contracts. Additionally, the USA Men's National Team will be selected from the teams competing in the National Championships. The United States Cricket Association is the National Body for cricket in the USA and is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 based in Florida. USACA's primary objective is to promote, encourage, foster and develop interest and participation in the game of cricket throughout the United States of America. USACA president Gladstone Dainty says, "The funding from Global Sports Ventures will be used to support our players by incentivizing them appropriately. In turn, we expect to be a top contender at every level. Our national championship is an important part of identifying our top performing players by awarding them with annual contracts for the first time in United States history."
