ARLINGTON, Va., Feb. 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- ARC, the financial settlement link between airlines and travel sellers, reported today that the consolidated dollar value of airline tickets sold by U.S.-based travel agencies decreased 1.83 percent* year-over-year compared to the same period in 2014, totaling $7.7 billion versus $7.8 billion the year before.
Ticket transactions increased .86 percent in 2015 vs. 2014 to 13.4 million. Passenger segments were flat with a .2 percent increase to 28.53 million, compared to 28.47 million in 2014.
