ARLINGTON, Va., Jan. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- ARC, the financial settlement link between airlines and travel sellers, reported today that the consolidated dollar value of airline tickets sold by U.S.-based travel agencies increased 4.02 percent* year-over-year in 2014 compared to 2013, totaling $89.6 billion versus $86.2 billion the year before. December 2014 sales were up 3.9 percent at $5.5 billion compared to December 2013 at $5.3 billion.
Ticket transactions increased 2.39 percent in 2014 vs. 2013 to 146 million. Passenger segments also increased in 2014 by 2.68 percent to 377.7 million, compared to 363.9 million in 2013.
