US Signal and 365 Data Centers Join Forces to Expand Disaster Recovery, Data Protection and Other Service Offerings
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Sept. 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Grand Rapids, Michigan-based US Signal and Emeryville, California-based 365 Data Centers today announced a partnership that offers their respective customers more options for customized disaster recovery (DR) solutions. The partnership also allows the two companies to extend cloud, colocation, network and data protection services to customers across a broader geographic footprint.
Demand for DR solutions, particularly disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS), is growing as data becomes increasingly important to businesses' operations across a wide spectrum of industries and the threat of cyberattacks and other potential disasters that could result in data loss rises. According to research firm MarketsandMarkets, the DRaaS market alone will reach $11.92 billion by 2020, a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of roughly 53 percent over 2016.
365 Data Center Customers Gain Data Protection Options
Under the terms of the partnership, US Signal will make its advanced data protection services available to 365 Data Centers' customers. As a cloud, network, and managed services provider, US Signal offers unique network-powered cloud solutions not available from many other providers. Among them is a fully managed, cloud-based DRaaS solution that utilizes continuous data protection and includes a DR playbook and coordinated recovery testing. Other services include managed recovery as a service; backup as a service options; and replication. All services are backed by industry-leading service level agreements for uptime and performance.
365 Data Centers will also be able to leverage US Signal's wholly owned network comprised of 14,000 miles of lit fiber, access to over 225 data centers and POPs, Tier 1 peering relationships and metro rings in strategic markets. Doing so will allow the company to enhance its customers' connectivity options and interconnect their on-premises data centers with third-party colocation and cloud environments, including those from US Signal. US Signal's robust, secure network will also help minimize downtime and latency and ensure reliability.
"Data loss and unexpected downtime have the potential to put organizations at risk for lost revenue, reduced productivity, missed opportunities and damaged reputation," explains John Scanlon, CEO of 365 Data Centers. "The partnership with US Signal gives our customers access to some of the most advanced DR solutions to help minimize these."
US Signal Customers Gain More Colocation Choices
For US Signal, the relationship with 365 Data Centers offers its customers the opportunity to take advantage of secure, reliable colocation services outside the company's current data center network at any of 365 Data Centers' 13 carrier-neutral, Internet Exchange (IX)-friendly data centers in tier 1 and 2 markets. With N+1 redundancy and a 10-year operating history, 365 Data Centers has a 100 percent uptime record with no customer-impacting downtime in its facilities. Like US Signal, 365 Data Centers meets the compliance requirements for HIPAA/HITECH, PCI DSS, and SSAE 16 across all its colocation facilities.
"We couldn't have found a better partner than 365 Data Centers to extend the availability of our colocation, data protection and other services," says Stephen Oyer, President of US Signal. "Their commitment to maintaining highly secure, compliant colocation facilities aligns with that of US Signal. By combining resources, our companies will provide our customers with more options to help them meet their specific business requirements, particularly in the areas of data protection and DR."
Combined Data Center Count Increases Backup Site Options
With a total of 21 data centers between US Signal and 365 Data Centers throughout the U.S., both companies will be able to offer their customers a more geographically diverse choice of cold, warm and hot backup sites for integration into their DR plans, as well as active/active configurations.
In addition to expanding backup site options for its customers through the 365 Data Centers partnership, US Signal is sharing best practices in DR, data protection and other areas at its annual Midwest Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Summit this fall. The series of single-day events will be held in select Midwest cities. Additional details and registration is available at: http://ussignal.com/bcdrsummit
