HOUSTON, Sept. 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Reveal Energy Services announces today the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has granted Equinor (previously known as Statoil) two patents that protect the science underlying IMAGE Frac™ technology licensed exclusively to Reveal Energy Services. The science enables the pressure-based fracture map data acquisition and processing that allows operators to make informed, better completion decisions with minimum operational risk and cost.
U.S. Patent 10,030,497: Method of acquiring information of hydraulic fracture geometry for evaluating and optimizing well spacing for multi-well pad. This patent relates to a method of acquiring information of hydraulic fracture geometry for evaluating and optimizing well spacing for a multi-well pad. The invention is directed to design the stage sequencing of a multi-well hydraulic fracturing job and design a pressure measurement technique during stimulation to acquire data that can be interpreted and analyzed for evaluating hydraulic fracture geometry, connectivity, and proximity and optimizing well spacing.
U.S. Patent 9,988,900: Method of geometric evaluation of hydraulic fractures by using pressure changes. This patent is directed to evaluate hydraulic fracture geometry by measuring pressure changes in an observation well stage while hydraulic fractures are created in adjacent well(s) for a multi-well pad,and performing an analysis which couples a solid mechanics equation and a pressure diffusion equation.
"We are pleased the United States Patent and Trademark Office has granted these two patents, so we can continue to further develop IMAGE Frac technology," said Sudhendu Kashikar, CEO of Reveal Energy Services.
The technology and five services are field-proven in more than 5,000 hydraulic fracturing stages.
